Policy Summary
This cover is designed to ease the financial burden associated with funeral expenses incurred by employers, associations or organizations in the event of death of any of their employees or group members.
Who is covered?
The policy covers the employee (principal member), spouse and the insured dependent children. The cove may be extended at the discretion of the insured to cover parents of the insured members and the parents of their spouses under the group cover.
What is the amount of benefit payable?
The employer, association or group or indeed the employee/ group member (in case of his/her parents or parents in-law), may choose the amount of cash to be paid that would be adequate to mitigate funeral expenses such as:
- Coffin/Casket cost
- Transportation of the deceased to the final resting place
- Bereavement allowance/cash that may be used to buy food, firewood etc. at the deceased’s home
