Policy Summary
This policy provides cover against legal Liability for negligence at common law and/or private carrier in respect of loss or damage to property/goods or merchandise in the custody of the Insured happening during any period of insurance and within the geographical limits.
The policy can also be extended to include cover for loss or damage to property in the store/bonded warehouse. Generally the policy requires that a carrier:-
- To trade in accordance with the declared contract conditions
- To hold sub-contractors liable for loss or damage to the property in their control.
- Not to accept additional Liabilities without insurers consent
The cover has the following sections:-
1. Warehousing section:
- Limit of liability per location
- Limit per event – Could be involved if there was a serious fire or flooding
2. Extensions of cover
- Containers, ropes and other equipment.
3.Loss or damage to property in Transit Section
- The limit of cover per consignment.
